Dr. Muqeem completed medical training at Deccan College of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Westlake Community Hospital in Melrose Park, Illinois and a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Lillinois in Chicago, Illinois in 2005.
He has professional affiliations with the American Medical Association and American College of Physicians.
